WHAT SETS ME APART FROM MY COMPETITOR
Me: I am not afraid to vote against a policy, budget, financial decision or anything else that I do not believe is in the best interest of ALL our students.
Him: From January 2023 until today Mr. Rabold voted “no” only once in 2024.
Me: In my role as PTO president, I am always listening to my fellow parents and fighting for the things they want and need. In my role on the Superintendent Advisory Board, I am asking other parents what they want me to ask about and the perspective they want me to share. I understand fully who I would be representing as a school board member.
Him: In PTO meetings, Mr. Rabold has consistently defended the superintendent without really listening to parents who are all explaining the negative impacts of his decisions on our students.
Me: As my motto indicates, I am vested and invested in Fayette County Schools for the long haul. I care about what happens to our students and staff. I have many years ahead of me and want to use those years to serve the children and families in our community. My youngest child still has 11 more years in our public schools.
Him: While Mr. Rabold was in the field of education, he retired almost a decade ago. Additionally, it has been almost four decades since he was in the classroom day as a teacher. A lot has changed in that time. Our schools are not the same. Society is not the same. Students are not the same.
Me: I feel it is time for a change. It is time for new energy, new ideas, and new passion. It is time for someone who can really see what is happening and will be a voice on the school board for those changes.
Him: While I do not doubt Mr. Rabold’s care for our schools is genuine, he is not a voice of change. This is evident by asking yourself, "What has he done that serves my student the best?"
